Invasion of Boboron | return

The Invasion of Boboron, sometimes referred to as the Woodland and Boboron War, was a brief conflict that is largely considered to be a part of the Great Woodland War. After the Republic of Kelm and Woodland agreed to a ceasefire, Chief Scottie wanted to further secure Kelm borders against Woodland. He made a secret agreement with Woodland allowing them to attack Boboron without interference to improve relations with them. Chief Scottie also planned on using the conflict to maintain relations with Boboron by mediating peace while simultaneously weakening the value of the Boboron franc against the Kelm x. Scottie's motivation for this was the fact that Boboron had a very strong currency that competed with Kelm's. When Kent Luxtari got word of the impending attack, he immediately contacted his Kelm allies. Chief Scottie said that Kelm forces were low in number that day and were too busy defending borders from a possible attack to directly intervene, but that they would assist in any way possible. While guarding High Hills near the blue tent, the Kelm garrison witnessed the Woodland troops traveling from the direction of Woodland on their way to Boboron. Less than an hour later, they heard cheers in the distance. As the celebration drew nearer, 3 Woodland soldiers dancing around the dejected leader of Boboron came into view. Upon this sight, Chief Scottie began talks to end the conflict on reasonable terms. Terms were discussed in Soldier Field in the city of Duke, which at the time was probably known as Kelm or Rome. At this point, Kent had completely lost hope and expressed that it was the end of his country. However, Chief Scottie offered him full support to retain it. Woodland agreed to a deal proposed by Kelm that would let Boboron keep all of their land and sovereignty but would require Boboron to pay a large reparation fee. Kent stayed up all night printing new bills in order to pay off the reparations. Woodland required several very high bills as an extra level of humiliation, as Boboron prided themselves on keeping inflation low. The next day Kent expressed that it was the end of his currency and that his country would become impoverished. Scottie assured him that with time and proper management he could bring the coming inflation down to reasonable levels. This provided Kent the strength to continue through the coming months of high inflation for the Boboron franc. Eventually, inflation did come down, and the Boboron franc retained its status as a strong currency. However, the Kelm x had gained significant value over it during this time.
