1st Spring Challenge | return
The 1st Spring Challenge was a sports competition that took place from 24APR25 to 24MAY25. It was the 1st AJ's Publishing Sports Challenge. Presiding teams chose if caidball, football, grass hockey, soccer, or wiffle ball would be played. Basketball was not included due to a lack of a suitable court at the time. The random draw for positioning took place on 22APR25. AJ's Athletic Club and the Brinkleystani Regional Team were originally going to play but were withdrawn from the tournament due to the region of Brinkleystan being new and undeveloped. AJ's Athletic Club withdrew to allow for an even number of teams. It featured the inaugural matches of the New Jonesland Regional Team and the Kelm National Team. The sports field in Spaghettiland was rented from Edwin Hammerbeck for 13 Kelm dinars when New Jonesland was temporarily unavailable for gatherings. Scottie Smith paid 8 Kelm dinars and Bruno Mondragon paid 5, because some games of the 1st Turtle Tournament were also played there that day.
