Lordship of Chelm | return
The Lordship of Chelm is an autonomous region. The Baron or Princess of the Lordship of Chelm is decided by a constant election of property owners within cities under its jurisdiction. Each property, including properties without buildings, contribute 1 vote. If the Baron is not a sovereign, the Lordship will be independent. If the Baron is already a sovereign of an entity, the Lordship and any of its possessions will be a vassal of that entity by default. An update to election results can be called for at any time by a property owner. If there is a tie for most votes, the previous Baron remains in power until the draw is broken. As of 08JUL26, candidates must own at least 1 property within the Lordship.
History
Originally, the Lordship of Chelm was a city-state until it purchased the sovereignty of 2 cities from Verdenia for 1000 Kelm Dinars on 08JUL26. Baron Scottie immediately began a cleanup operation in the 2 acquired cities, which were in a state of disrepair under King Bruno.
Economy
The Lordship of Chelm has the strongest economy in the world, this was true even during its city-state era. The city of Chelm was the commercial center of the world before the Lordship was established, however it still possesses the highest property values in the world and significant industrial production. Chelm is also the sports center of the world. Kaizelm became an industrial power as soon as it joined the Lordship, further strengthening the Lordship's industrial power. Historically and currently, there are no taxes and any currency has been allowed to be used, however, only the Kelm Dinar is legal tender.
