Soccer Squabble | return
During a soccer match, King Bruno of Verdenia threatened to attack the Chiefdom of Kelm if the Verdenia Turtle Wings lost to the Kelm Cool Guys in the second match of the day, after the Turtle Wings lost the first match. The second match ended in a draw after the Turtle Wings held a considerable lead well into the 2nd half. Though the Turtle Wings didn't lose the game, King Bruno decided to attack anyway since they technically lost on aggregate for the day. The conflict started with poorly armed Verdenian troops attacking Chelm, but they were quickly repelled. Their second attempt at taking Garagestantinople was also repelled quickly. King Bruno then challenged Chief Scottie to attack one of his cities, which resulted in the seizure of Botopolis after Verdenian troops failed to stop the skillfull Kelm forces from Jelm. The Soccer Squabble was the first military action since the 1990s outside of joint military exercises.
