Chelm became the commercial center of the world in MAY25 and remained so until the next spring. It also gained significant industry during that time, causing housing prices to skyrocket there. Radical Park is located in Chelm and is the most active venue for sports in the game. It is the first city to have playhouses since the City Era and the first city to ever have a plastic playhouse. On 16OCT25, it became the first city of the Lordship of Chelm.

Housing Costs
Chelm has the most expensive buildings due to its location. Housing costs begain to sky rocket in 2025, from around 100 to 150 Kelm Dinars early in the year to 300 to 500 Kelm Dinars by July. In 2026, buildings were selling anywhere from 400 to 600 Kelm Dinars.

Crime
During its first economic explosion in early MAY25, theft became a big problem in the city. The Chief of Kelm tripled the police force there at the expense of 20 Kelm dinars but still initially failed to stop significant loss of cash to robbers. Crime has decreased since the populations of nearby cities as well as visitors have gained in wealth. Spaghettiland and Verdenian vagrants were responsible for most of the crime in the city. By 2026, crime was at all time lows, in part because most commercial activity had moved to Gelm.
